The Radford men's basketball team will have five televised games during the upcoming season.
On Dec. 5, the Highlanders will have a home game against Richmond broadcast by Home Team Sports. Radford will be back on the air two days later with a game against Marshall that will be aired as a tape-delayed broadcast on HTS.
Three of Radford's Big South Conference games will be televised: a Jan. 18 contest against UNC Greensboro, aired on WDBJ Channel 7; a Jan. 28 game against Charleston Southern, aired on SportsSouth; and a Feb.1 game with Liberty, aired on a tape-delayed basis on HTS.
In other sports news:
* The Marching Virginians of Virginia Tech are will sponsor a canned-food drive at Saturday's West Virginia-Tech football game at Lane Stadium. The food will be distributed to the needy through the Montgomery County Christmas Store.
* Virginia Tech's Laura Hanner and Virginia's Whitney Casey have been named to the GTE Academic All-American District III volleyball second team. UVa's Mary Frances Scott was selected for the ACC all-freshman team.
