THE GENDER gap may be going international. In Britain, polls show men are considerably more satisfied than women with Tony Blair's leadership of the opposition Labor Party.
One factor, according to one analyst: The bouffant style of Blair's thinning hair is a turnoff to women. The pate of Conservative Prime Minister John Major, Blair's presumed opponent in a general election six months away, is more abundantly endowed.
We won't vouch for the accuracy of the hairstyle poll. But Blair and the Labor image-makers apparently believe it: He's taken to wearing a flatter, fatter style. It makes you wonder what the country's last bald prime minister would have said about this, fellow named Winston Churchill.
