Employees at Maple Grove Health Care in Lebanon have voted for representation by the United Mine Workers of America.
The vote, taken Friday, was 32-5 for the UMWA. Maple Grove has 47 employees in its bargaining unit. It is the third nursing home to have employees represented by the UMWA. Heritage Hall in Big Stone Gap was organized in 1992; employees at Mount Aloysius in New Lexington, Ohio, have had UMWA affiliation since 1989.
The union also represents health care workers at the Dickenson County Medical Center in Clintwood.
