JOHNSTON HOUSE HOURS ANNOUNCED

The Andrew Johnston House will be closed to the public during the rest of this month, but will reopen for the first weekend in December for the annual Christmas tour.

The 1829 house at 208 N. Main St., headquarters of the Giles County Historical Society, is undergoing extensive exterior work, financed by the Society's Museum and Restoration Fund. The fund is also financing the building of a new museum now under construction on the Johnston House grounds.

The house will be decorated for the holidays when it reopens Dec. 2 and 3. It will then be closed for the winter months.

The research office of the Historical Society, located in the white frame Doctor's Office, will continue to be open each Thursday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., except during holiday weeks.
