Jim Wright wants everyone to know about the Wellness Center he manages for Carilion Radford Community Hospital. It's at the Radford Army Ammunition Plant, but there are no guards at the front gate, and you don't have to work at the arsenal or the hospital to use the Wellness Center. Indeed, it's open to the public, and with cold weather approaching, now is a good time to take advantage of indoor fitness opportunities, Wright said.
The center offers a range of facilities and activities, including standard gym fare like basketball, volleyball, racquetball and weight lifting. Its unique qualities include individual attention, health and fitness assessments, and an expanding array of dance and marital arts programs. The center's highly trained and certified staffers can work with people of all ages, abilities and interests, including people with disabilities.
The center's hours are Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., and Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon. It's closed on Sundays. Staff members can tell you about the different pricing options when you visit. For more information, call the center at 639-3241.
