Mother Theresa weak and 'unstable'

CALCUTTA, India - Doctors were trying to determine Tuesday when Mother Teresa would be strong enough to survive a test and a procedure that could increase the flow of blood to her ailing heart.

Dr. Tarun Praharaj described the 86-year-old nun's condition as ``unstable.'' He said he would observe her for an indefinite period before deciding when to proceed with the angiogram.

North Korea frees accused U.S. spy

YOKOTA AIR BASE, Japan - An American jailed on spy charges for three months in North Korea was freed today and arrived in Japan with the U.S. congressmen who negotiated his release.

Evan C. Hunziker, 26, of Tacoma, Wash., stepped off a U.S. Air Force jet at Yokota Air Base. He waved to reporters, but didn't smile and ignored questions.

Hunziker had been detained since Aug.24, when he crossed the border from China into the isolated communist country and was apprehended. North Korea accused him of spying for South Korea.

Hunziker's relatives said he found Christianity during a spell in jail for drunken driving last year and probably crossed the border to try to convert North Koreans.
