ACCIDENT FORCES REROUTING OF TRAFFIC

Westbound traffic on the overpass at U.S. 460 and Prices Fork Road was rerouted Thursday morning after a car hit a patch of ice and was struck by a truck and another car.

Connie Jean Austin of Radford was westbound on Prices Fork Road when she lost control of her car, crossed the median and hit a curb, according to Blacksburg police. Two more vehicles hit Austin's car, which was sideways across both westbound lanes.

Austin, who suffered minor injuries, refused medical treatment, police said.

The accident caused traffic to be rerouted to an eastbound lane of U.S. 460 for about one hour.
