Roanoke: No residential or commercial trash collection Wednesday, Dec. 25, or Wednesday, Jan. 1. For the next two weeks, Wednesday residential routes will be collected Thursday, Thursday residential routes Friday, and Friday residential routes Saturday. Wednesday commercial routes will be collected Thursday, and Thursday commercial routes will be collected Friday. Friday commercial routes will be collected Tuesday. All other collections on normal schedule.
Wednesday A recycling will be collected Thursday, Thursday A recycling Friday, and Friday A recycling Saturday. During the New Year's Week, Wednesday and Thursday B recycling will be collected Thursday. All other recycling collections that week will be on schedule. No collection Dec. 25 or Jan. 1 in the central business district.
Roanoke County: Pickup for Wednesday, Dec. 25, will be Thursday, Dec. 26. Pickup for Wednesday, Jan. 1, will be Thursday, Jan. 2. Normal schedule all other times.
Salem: Garbage will be collected Thursday, Dec. 26, and Thursday, Jan. 2. Pickup is on normal schedule Dec. 27-31 and Jan.3.
Vinton: Garbage will be collected Dec. 23, 26, 27, and Jan. 2-3.

Offices and courts: Courts closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. Offices closed Dec. 24, 25, and Jan.1.
Post offices: Retail windows of Roanoke Main Office and all stations will be closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. Stamps or mail parcels can be bought at the Self-Service Postal Center in the Main Post Office lobby at 419 Rutherford Ave. No delivery of residential, business or rural mail. Special delivery, express mail and perishable items will be delivered.
