Two men shot a Northwest Roanoke man and threatened another in the parking lot of the Hunt Manor apartment complex Thursday night.
Officers responding to a call in the 800 block of Hunt Avenue Northwest at 6:20 p.m. found Clarence Patterson, 22, of 10th Street, who had been shot in the hip, police said.
Patterson was transported to an undisclosed hospital.
Police said Patterson was confronted by two men who pulled guns and fired several shots, at least one of which struck Patterson. The men also threatened another man who left the scene before officers arrived. After searching the area, police were unable to find the gunmen, who fled on foot.
A hole was visible where a stray bullet struck a nearby apartment.
