ROANOKE REGIONAL ECONOMIC INDICATORS

Several major projects pushed the value of building permits in the Roanoke Valley to $15.99 million last month. That's an increase of 17 percent over $13.65 million in January 1996 and of 64 percent over $9.74 million in January 1995.

The largest permit was in Roanoke - $3,982,400 for an addition to St. John's Episcopal Church. Roanoke County granted a permit for $713,248 for an addition to Cave Spring Methodist. Salem had a $2 million permit for an assisted living facility at Ridgewood Farms.
