Roanoke Tribune publisher Claudia Alexander Whitworth will speak at Roanoke College this evening at 7 in Atrium Hall. She will tell what experiences during her youth helped lead to her successes as a newspaper publisher and community leader.
Her talk is sponsored by the Student Government Association and by Shades of Maroon. The speech celebrates Black History Month and Leadership Week.
Whitworth is the recipient of national, state and local awards for her civic contributions. She has served on numerous state commissions and local boards of directors and is a Meals-on-Wheels driver and volunteer.
