THE JEFFERSON CHORAL SOCIETY will feature the voices of its 100 members tonight and Sunday in the society's annual concert: Music for a Mid-Winter's Day, A Festival of International Music.
Secular and sacred music by composers such as Alan Hovhaness, Randall Thompson and Robert H. Young will be performed.
Tonight's concert will begin at 8; Sunday's will start at 3 p.m. Admission to either show at the Heritage United Methodist Church on Leesville Road in Lynchburg is $8 in advance or $10 at the door. Children under 16 get in for half price. Call 237-1822.
THE NEW RIVER VALLEY SYMPHONY will present its winter concert in Virginia Tech's Burruss Hall at 8 p.m. on Saturday. Modeste Moussorgsky's "Night on Bald Mountain" - made famous through Walt Disney's "Fantasia," - and Walter Piston's "The Incredible Flutist" will be among the works played.

Following will be the world premiere of the theater's newest one-act folktale, "The Silver Sword."

FIFTEEN DANCERS, who comprise the Wonju Korea Dance Troop, will fill their approximately 90-minute show with multiple costume changes, drums, songs and traditional dance forms. The group will perform Monday at 10 a.m. at Patrick Henry High School; Tuesday at 9 a.m. at Fishburn Park Elementary School; Wednesday at 9 a.m. and 1:20 p.m. at Northside High School; and Tuesday at 8 p.m. in Roanoke College's Olin Hall.
