A house fire led to one man's arrest last month after deputies discovered a large quantity of marijuana being grown in the home.
Authorities did not release information about the Riner-area fire and arrest last month because it may have jeopardized further investigation, according to Lt. Neal Turner of the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office. No other charges or arrests are expected at this time, however, he said.
Robert A. Lowe, 33, was arrested Jan. 18 for possession of marijuana with intent to sell it and possession of a firearm after being convicted of a felony.
Deputies arrested Lowe after they responded to a fire at 1749 Camp Carysbrook Road where Lowe was living. The house sustained minimal damage, Turner said, after a kerosene heater ignited the fire. No one was injured in the fire.
Once inside the house, which used to be a barn, authorities found "a large quantity of marijuana plants being grown inside the residence," Turner said.
Lowe's court date is March 18; he is free on a $10,000 bond.
