LONGWOOD'S HALL TOP PLAYER

Nikki Hall of Salem has been selected the Carolinas-Virginia Athletic Conference women's basketball player of the year.

Hall, a former standout at Glenvar, has started every game of her career at Longwood College, leading the Lancers to a 23-3 record this season.

She averaged 15.9 points and 5.4 rebounds per game this season. Hall, a senior, is majoring in anthropology and biology and has a 3.851 grade-point average. She received the Murphy Osborne Award, which is the highest academic honor presented by the conference.
