Roanoke police arrested a strong-arm robbery suspect Tuesday night after a chase that ended when the man crashed his vehicle into a tree.
The Shoney's restaurant on Hershberger Road was robbed at 9:25 p.m., police said. A police officer spotted the suspect's vehicle on Williamson Road a short time later, but the man did not pull over.
The officer chased him to the 2000 block of Oakland Boulevard where the man's vehicle hit a tree at a dead-end, police said.
The suspect's name was not available late Tuesday.
