Charges certified

A judge certified capital murder and other charges against Mark Anthony Beavers on Thursday in Floyd County General District Court. Beavers, 18, is accused of killing Stanley Harmon in February at Harmon's home near Buffalo Mountain. The case will now go the grand jury, which will decide if there's sufficient evidence to send it to trial. For details, see today's Virginia section.
