Having lived in Europe, I appreciate the simplicity of the metric system and have long been an advocate thereof. However, if the commonwealth plans on converting highway signs to metric, simple rules of logic and common sense should apply. Nowhere, in all of metricland, will one find a speed sign ending in a digit other than 0 or 5.
{REST} Before more funds are foolishly spent installing disparate numbered signage, let's change the 88 to read 90 in order to obviate the necessity of changing them later on to conform with those of more progressive states.
It probably won't matter much anyway since few, if any, motorists actually observe posted speed limits!
