CECIL C. CATON

{LEAD} Cecil Calvin Caton, 80, of the 2300 block of Leeward Shore Drive, a retired superintendent of Utility Inspection, died June 1, 1994, in Virginia Beach.

Mr. Caton, a native of Princess Anne County, retired from the City of Virginia Beach Public Utilities Department after 15 years and was a master plumber and retired owner of May Plumbing and Heating Co. He was an honorary member and past master of the Virginia Beach Masonic Lodge (NU)274; a founder and charter member of the Lynnhaven Masonic Lodge (NU)220 and past district grand master of the 56th Masonic District; and a member of the Norfolk United Royal Arch Chapter (NU)1, Grace Commandery (NU)16 and Khedive Temple of the Shrine; also, Khedive Knights of Mecca and Virginia Beach Shrine Club. He was an early member and 12 year veteran of the Virginia Beach Rescue Squad.

{REST} Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Ruby Henley Caton; two daughters, Betty Lavrischeff and Alice Malesky; two sons, Archie Caton and Jimmy Caton; one brother, Percy J. Caton, all of Virginia Beach; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted Friday, June 3, 1994, at 2:30 p.m. in Princess Anne Memorial Park by the Rev. C. William Cashman III. Masonic rites will be accorded at the graveside. Friends may join the family from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. tonight in the Maestas Funeral Home, Baltic Ave. Chapel. Memorial donations may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Crippled and Burned Children, 243 W. Freemason St., Norfolk, Va. 23510.
