BERNICE W. ROGERS

{LEAD} Bernice Ward Rogers, 96, of the 1000 block of Butt St., died June 1, 1994, in a Chesapeake hospital.

Mrs. Rogers was born in Gates County, N.C., and was the widow of Lester Clark Rogers. She was the oldest living member of South Norfolk Baptist Church, Chesapeake, and was a member of Virginia Chapter (NU)22, Order of the Eastern Star.

{REST} Survivors include one daughter, Sarah Margaret Tatem of Newport News; one son, W. Ray Rogers of Chesapeake; one brother, Harry Ward of Chesapeake; one granddaughter, Theresa Sawyer of Richmond; and one grandson, Patrick Ray Rogers of Chesapeake.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Riverside Memorial Park, Norfolk, by the Rev. Frank Hughes Jr. The family will receive friends at Graham Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel, from 7 to 8 p.m. today. Memorial contributions may be made to South Norfolk Baptist Church, 1101 Chesapeake Ave., Chesapeake, Va. 23324.
