WILLIAM M. HUMPHRIES

{LEAD} William M. Humphries, 71, a retired ironworker, died May 31, 1994, in Virginia Beach.

Mr. Humphries was born in Perquimans County, N.C. He was a member of Iron Workers Local (NU)79, Lynnhaven Masonic Lodge (NU)220 and was a veteran of World War II, having served as a U.S. Army sergeant.

{REST} Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Humphries; two daughters, Judy Annette Buckley of Fairfax, and Julia Jones of Portsmouth; one sister, Elizabeth Davidson of Chesapeake; two brothers, Richard Humphries of Powells Point, N.C., and Willard Humphries of Eure, N.C.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. today in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, by the Rev. Steve Jones. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Masonic rites will be accorded at graveside. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
