EXECUTIVE TRACK

{LEAD} ARCHITECTURE

R. Craig Burns was appointed a project manager in the roofing services department with I.V. Harris and Associates Inc. in Virginia Beach. Burns had been with CMSS Architects in Virginia Beach.

{REST} John R. Ballard II was named an associate with Woolpert Consultants in Virginia Beach. Ballard, a survey manager, has been with the architectural and engineering firm for five years.

\ BANKING

Commerce Bank in Portsmouth appointed Dr. Robert B. Seal, Jerrold L. Miller and Nancy Glisson Wren to its board of directors. Seal is medical director of the laboratory with Maryview Medical Center in Portsmouth, Miller is president of Earl Industries Inc. in Portsmouth, and Wren had been tournament director for the LPGA for 13 years.

The bank also promoted Margaret P. Barney from a vice president to senior vice president for its Norfolk region. Also, Arona E. Miller was promoted from an assistant vice president to a vice president in Chesapeake.

Ronald J. Spadafora was named a vice president with Virginia Beach Federal Savings Bank. Spadafora is account manager in the real estate finance department. He was formerly a vice president with First Union.

Ross C. Reeves was elected to the board of directors with Heritage Bankshares Inc./Heritage Bank & Trust in Norfolk. Reeves is a partner in the law firm of Willcox & Savage in Norfolk.

\ FINANCIAL SERVICES

TFC Enterprises Inc. named Charles M. Johnston chief financial officer. Preston K. Gnagey, the current CFO, will assume the duties of chief operating officer.

Johnston had spent 10 years with Mellon Bank Corp. of Pittsburgh, where he was manager of the treasury division and director of investor relations. Gnagey, an executive vice president of THE Finance Co., joined the firm in 1988.

TFC Enterprises Inc. is the holding company for its subsidiary, THE Finance Co.

CORRECTION

The photos of George Sinkez and Filipe daSilva were switched in the Executive Track column of last week's Business Weekly. Here are the correct announcements:

MANUFACTURING

George Sinkez was appointed vice president with J. Henry Hol-land Corp. in Virginia Beach. He has been with the distributor of wire rope/rigging hardware and manufacturer of custom slings since 1966. Sinkez, also a director and corporate secretary with the company, will continue his position as sales manager.

SECURITIES BROKERAGE

Filipe daSilva was named associate vice president of investments with A.G. Edwards & Sons Inc. He joined A.G. Edwards in 1982, and is an investment broker in the firm's Norfolk office.
