HERBERT L. HARRIS

{LEAD} Herbert Lee Harris, of the 25000 block of Wood Duck Drive, died Saturday, June 4, 1994, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, Norfolk, after a long illness.

Mr. Harris was born in Southampton County, Va. He had retired from Virginia Department of Transportation. He was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church and served on the Board of Deacons. He was the widower of Annie Deloatch Harris.

{REST} Survivors include nine daughters, Ernell Taylor and Minnie Harris, both of Mount Vernon, N.Y., and Daphne H. Dews and Ruby M. Smith, both of Virginia Beach, and Queen E. Harris of Norfolk and Yvonne Harris of Smyrna, Ga., Rebie M. Bryant of Lothian, Md. and Eileen Duncan of Boston, Mass., and Ruth Holland of Franklin; 17 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in Cedar Grove Baptist Church by the Rev. John B. Townsell. Burial will be in Beulah Land Church Cemetery. Wm. M. Johnson & Sons Funeral Home Inc. is handling arrangements. Remains will be viewed in church at 11 a.m.
