WINNERS REVEALED IN ISLE OF WIGHT'S HERITAGE HUNT EVENT

{LEAD} The first Heritage Hunt contest, sponsored by the Isle of Wight County Tourism Bureau, was a complete success, director Diane Howard said.

Entries came in from throughout the county, she said. And the winners, judged on the number of correct answers and the time they were submitted, were spread across the county.

{REST} The winners were: Helen Ann Ferguson, Benn's Church; Betty Thomas, Smithfield; Tommy and Sharon Harrell, Carrsville; Anna Sisti, Newport District; Virginia Parrish, Windsor.

The contest was held in honor of ``American Heritage Week'' and promoted by the state Department of Tourism.

The questions and answers:

1. What is the date of completion of the Smithfield courthouse? 1751.
