Mr. Bryce was born in Goochland County, Va. He had retired from Norfolk Naval Shipyard in 1977 after 35 years. He was the widower of Margaret Davis Bryce and was a member of Mount Hermon Baptist Temple. He was also a member of the Male Usher Board and president of the United Usher Board. He was a trustee and a member of the Men's Fellowship. He was also a member of Alpha & Omega Lodge 46 of Masons, Portsmouth Branch NAACP and was treasurer of Progressive Civic League. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was predeceased by a son, Clarence J. Bryce Jr.
{REST} Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Bryce Coleman of Racine, Wis.; three sisters, Mable B. Mealey of Maidens, Va., Louise B. Mealey of Goochland County, Va. and Gladys B. Holland of Ettrick, Va.; three brothers, John L. Bryce of Portsmouth, Burie O. Bryce of Chesapeake and Cornell Bryce of Goochland County, Va.; a grandson, Wesley A. Coleman Jr. of Racine; two granddaughters, Lisa M. Bryce of Portsmouth and Cathy Robinson of Huntington, W.Va.; a son-in-law, Wesley A. Coleman of Racine; a daughter-in-law, Arlethia Bryce of Portsmouth; and a host of other relatives.
The funeral will be conducted at noon Thursday in Mount Hermon Baptist Temple by the Rev. I.S. Waters. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake. Fisher Funeral Home is handling arrangements. The family will be at the residence. The body will be in the church at 11 a.m.
