MAN FOUND DEAD IN FIRE

{LEAD} MAN FOUND DEAD IN FIRE: Firefighters responding to a blaze at a house in Denbigh on Tuesday found a 69-year-old man dead on a couch inside, fire spokeswoman Lynn James said.

{REST} The fire in the 300 block of Boyd Circle was quickly doused. James said the fire started on the couch where the home's owner, Robert Lynn, was found, but the exact cause had not been determined. Lynn was a smoker, the spokeswoman said.

The fire started about 4:15 p.m. and caused $40,000 worth of damage to the single-story brick home, James said.
