IT'S QUIET TIME AT THE MUSEUMS

{LEAD} June would be a good month to film one of those campy horror movies that takes place in a hushed museum.

{REST} The museums in this area are having an exceedingly quiet time. There are some activities, though. Here is a look.

RAWLS MUSEUM

The 31st annual regional art exhibit continues through July 16. The winners will be announced later. The judges are both from Norfolk. They are Lorraine Fink, an acrylic and watercolor artist and instructor, and Matthew Fine, an award-winning sculptor.

SUFFOLK MUSEUM

The Suffolk Art League Members Show continues through June 26.

WAKEFIELD FOUNDATION

``The Elegance of Form and Flowers,'' the museum's seventh annual flower and art show, continues through June 29.

RIDDICK'S FOLLY

``Toy Farming,'' an exhibit featuring miniature farm equipment, toys and barnyards from Suffolk collectors, continues through June 19.

June 28 - ``Liberties With Liberty,'' an exhibition of 24 color posters organized by the Museum of American Folk Art, continues though July 31. It tells the story of liberty in American art through 18th and 19th century examples of needlework and weaving. Weather vanes, scrimshaw, trade signs, a gate post and a ship's figurehead are part of the exhibit.

SOUTHAMPTON MUSEUM

An exhibit of World War II memorabilia continues through the summer. It features uniforms, flags, medals, pictures and newspapers of the area. by CNB
