He was a native of Franktown, Va., and had been a sales manager for Greenbrier Chrysler-Plymouth-Jeep dealership. He was Methodist.
{REST} He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Gail Bundick Mears; one son, James B. Mears of Chesapeake; his mother, Margaret Mears Bonniwell of Harborton, Va.; two sisters, Mary Frances Allen of Onancock, Va., and Lois Ann Turner of Parksley, Va.; one grandchild, Brooks Edward Mears of Chesapeake; and one daughter-in-law, Cynthia B. Mears of Chesapeake.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in Hollomon Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel, by the Rev. Frank Thigpen. The family will be at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.
