YOUTH COMMISSION

{LEAD} Officials seeking to give local teens a voice in organizing activities for young people are recruiting applicants for a new youth commission.

Applications are being distributed in Camden and Pasquotank schools, youth services organizations and public housing. About 25 students ages 14 to 18 will be selected for the commission. Members will attend a leadership training course this summer before beginning activities in September, said officials of the River City Community Development Corp., which is coordinating the group's formation.

{REST} Organizers are seeking a diverse group of students to participate. The only application requirement is a concern for youth problems. The application deadline is 5 p.m. June 24. For more information, call 331-2925.
