ALLEN REPLACES 7 CORRECTIONS BOARD MEMBERS

{LEAD} Gov. George F. Allen continued his sweep of the state government Friday by removing seven of the nine members of the state Board of Corrections and replacing them with his own choices.

Allen said having a competent board ``will be essential in the months ahead as we take the necessary steps to reform Virginia's failed criminal justice system.''

{REST} The seven are:

Alexandria Vice Mayor William C. Cleveland, an officer with the U.S. Capitol Police.

Diane Davis-Wagner, a Portsmouth businesswoman.

Carl V. Knickman of Madison County, a retired executive with the Central Intelligence Agency.

Page County lawyer John J. McGrath Jr.

former Tazewell County Sheriff William E. Osborne.

Dickenson County Administrator Jack Rose, a former Washington police officer.

former Richmond Sheriff Andrew J. Winston.

Allen reappointed Henry Schrieberg, a retired Richmond General District Court judge, to the panel. Penny Anderson of Richmond was not eligible for reappointment.
