STEPHEN E. HANASIK SR.

{LEAD} Stephen E. Hanasik Sr., 76, of Norfolk, a retired Lieutenant Commander, died Friday, June 10, 1994. He retired after 17 years of service during which he participated in both WWII and the Korean War.

He was also retired from Booth Refrigeration Supply Co., Inc.

{REST} A graduate of Washington and Lee University, Lt. Cmdr. Hanasik was an all-star college football player and a member of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity.

Survivors include his wife of over 50 years, Ruth Ambrose Hanasik; his brothers Thomas Hanusik of Yonkers, N.Y., Joseph Hanasik of Acton, Mass., and Edward Hanasik of Delmar, N.Y.; his sisters Anna Gallios of Yonkers, N.Y., and Frances Hanusik, M.D., of Silver Spring, MD.; his son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Gail Hanasik of Chesapeake, and their children, Belina, Debbie, and Gerald; his son and daughter-in-law, Andrew and Donna Hanasik of Virginia Beach, and their daughter Shree; his daughter and son-in-law Denise and Richard Woodall of Chicago, Ill., and their children Laurie and James; his son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Jackie Hanasik of Virginia Beach and their children, Jason and Jennifer, six great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will be at Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norview Chapel from 7 to 8 p.m. on Monday. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 7 p.m. Burial will be at sea. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
