MAN KILLED OVER LOUD MUSIC

{LEAD} MAN KILLED OVER LOUD MUSIC: An argument between roommates about loud music ended late Friday when one roommate pulled out a handgun and shot the other twice, killing him, police said.

Detectives said Gary L. Watts, 34, of the 500 block of North Street refused to turn down his stereo when his roommate, Billy L. Taylor, asked him to.

{REST} The argument began about 10 p.m. in the apartment and moved to the front porch, where Taylor, 58, drew a gun, police spokesman Jimmy Ennis said. Watts stumbled off the porch after he was shot and collapsed on the sidewalk nearby.

Taylor was arrested and is in jail without bond, police said.
