NAVY MAN DIES IN MOTORCYCLE CRASH

{LEAD} An 18-year-old Navy man who was riding a motorcycle without a helmet was killed late Friday when he lost control of the vehicle.

Police spokesman Larry Hill said the man, Nicholas P. Foreman, of Pooler, Ga., was riding in a vacant lot near the intersection of 44th Street and Powhatan Avenue shortly before 11 p.m. when the motorcycle struck a tree. He was thrown from the motorcycle, which landed on him, Hill said.

{REST} Foreman, of the 1500 block of West 40th Street, died of head injuries, Hill said.
