NADINE G. SIMPSON

{LEAD} Mrs. Nadine G. Simpson, 54, of the 2100 block of Allison Drive, Chesapeake, a retired correctional officer, died June 14, 1994, in a local hospital.

Mrs. Simpson was a native of Norfolk. She was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School in 1977.

{REST} She was a member of the Faithway Church of Jesus In The Apostolic Faith Inc., where she served faithfully until her death.

She was the wife of Mr. Charlie E. Simpson Jr. for 29 years. She was the daughter of the late Arthur A. Godsey Sr.

She leaves to cherish her memories, a mother, Mrs. Letitia H. Godsey; one daughter, Mrs. Charlene S. Scott of Jacksonville, N.C.; four sons, Jonathan D. White of Norfolk, Kelvin G. White of Chesapeake, Charlie E. Simpson III of Norfolk and Apostle Darryl R. Simpson of Chesapeake; one brother, Arthur A. Godsey Jr. of Norfolk; two grandchildren, Jonathan D. White Jr. and Jamaka L. White, both of Norfolk; and a host of nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of Nadine Godsey Simpson may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2730 Ellsmere Ave., Norfolk.

Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. today only at Pleasant Hall, Kempsville Chapel of Kellum Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 17, at 2 p.m. at the Faithway Church of Jesus In The Apostolic Faith at 233 Hardy Ave., Berkley section of Norfolk. Bishop T.L. Stokley, Pastor and Apostle Darryl R. Simpson, will officiate. Interment will be in Colonial Grove Memorial Park, Virginia Beach.

The family would deeply appreciate their privacy after the committal service and sincerely thanks everyone for their support and understanding.

Kellum Funeral Home, Pleasant Hall, Kempsville Chapel, will be handling the arrangements.
