Mr. Werle was born in St. Louis, Mo. He retired from the Navy and was a Methodist.
{REST} Survivors include his wife, Eileen Myers Werle; four daughters, Donna Van Nostrand of Virginia Beach, Mary Stephenson of Texas, Darlene Carter of Florida and Sandy Greenwald of Colorado; six sons, Nick Werle of Colorado, Christopher Werle and Joseph Bonocore Jr., both of Virginia, Rick Bonocore and Matt Werle, both of Florida and Joseph P. Werle, III of Chesapeake; 16 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Rosewood Memorial Park by the Rev. Tommy Reynolds. Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, is handling arrangements. Friends may join the family at the residence. Memorial donations may be made to Princess Anne Courthouse Rescue Squad.
