SWELTERING VS. SAND

{LEAD} Regarding the June 8 article on sand for Sandbridge, let me get this straight: We are ready to spend millions of federal, state and local taxes on sand for a select few, while our schoolchildren are sweating in non-air-conditioned and overcrowded trailers and classrooms.
