Mr. Cochran was born in McLain, Miss., formerly of Virginia Beach. He retired from the United States Navy in 1963 after 21 years' service and retired from Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home as grounds manager in 1984. He was a member of Providence Forge Presbyterian Church and Providence Forge Volunteer Rescue Squad and was a naval veteran of World War II and Korea.
{REST} Survivors include his wife, Maxine H. Cochran; a daughter, Kathleen P. Harrison of Norfolk; a stepdaughter, Janice Anderson of Baton Rouge, La.; a son, Jimmy S. Cochran Jr. of Winterville, N.C.; a sister, Mamie Sage of Clinton, Miss.; a brother, Joseph K. Cochran of Jackson, Miss.; 15 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Providence Forge Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Cindy Kissel-Ito. Burial will be in Olivet Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will be at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday. Memorial donations may be made to Providence Forge Volunteer Rescue Squad, Box 177, Providence Forge, Va. 23140.
