WILLIAM MORLINO

{LEAD} William Morlino, 76, of the 1600 block of Barron St., died Sunday, June 19, 1994, in a Portsmouth hospital.

Mr. Morlino was a native of Portsmouth. He was the retired owner and operator of Brennan-Morlino Funeral Home in Portsmouth. He was predeceased by his parents, Lucia Festa Morlino and Vito Morlino. He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, past president of Virginia Funeral Directors Association, past state deputy of Virginia Council of Knights of Columbus and former master of Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, State of Virginia. He was past president of the following organizations: St. Paul's Athletic Association, Bureau of Catholic Charities, Nocturnal Adoration Society, Faithful Navigator of 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, Grand Knight of Council 418 Knights of Columbus, Portsmouth Toastmasters Club 771, Tidewater Funeral Directors Association and its secretary-treasurer for 20 years and the Merrimac Kiwanis Club. He was a life member of the Portsmouth Elks Lodge 82 and served on the Advisory Board of St. Paul's Catholic Church. He was past president of St. Paul's Catholic Church Parish Council, secretary-treasurer of Bernice Williams Degree Corp., honorary life member of the National Rifle Association and received the Golden Licensee Award in 1988.

{REST} Survivors include his wife, Anna McQuade Morlino; a daughter, L. Lenora Morlino of Norfolk; two sons, Joseph V. Morlino of Hamilton, Ohio, and William Morlino Jr. of Morgantown, W.Va.; a sister, Grace M. Morlino of Portsmouth; three brothers, Angelo P. Morlino, Louis C. Morlino and Vito J. Morlino, all of Portsmouth; and three grandchildren.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Paul's Catholic Church by the Rev. Joseph Slowik and the Rt. Rev. Paschal A. Morlino, O.S.B. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. A Christian wake service will be held at the church Wednesday at 7 p.m. with visitation following until 8:30 p.m. Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Boulevard Chapel, is handling arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be to St. Paul's Catholic Church Roof Fund.
