SILAS A. JACKSON

{LEAD} Silas Albert Jackson, 67, of the 2200 block of Marshall Ave., a retired carpenter, died June 20, 1994, in Maryview Nursing Home, Portsmouth.

Mr. Jackson was born in Quitman, Ga. He retired from the Navy Supply Center after 34 years and was a Navy veteran of World War II.

{REST} Survivors include three daughters, Joyce Acoff, Gwendolyn Smith and Allene Jackson, and two sons, Leo Jackson and James Jackson, all of Midway, Fla.; a sister, Cinnett Pinder-Andrews of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands; a brother, James Jackson of Hopewell, Va.; nine grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a devoted friend, Blanche Coker; two uncles and aunts; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late Ida Mae Mitchell and William Jackson.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at Hale Funeral Home by the Rev. M.L. Williams. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. The family will assemble at his residence.
