RALPH N. BURGESS JR.

{LEAD} Mr. Ralph N. Burgess, Jr. age 74, of 914 S. 343 in Shiloh, NC died Friday, June 24 in Winslow Memorial Home. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, Hall Masonic Lodge (NU)53, The Order of the Eastern Star, Indian Ridge Chapter (NU)319, Scottish Rite Bodies, and had retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Senior Master Sergeant, having served during World War II, The Korean Conflict and two tours in Vietnam.

Mr. Burgess was the son of the late Ralph N. Burgess, Sr. and Mary Blackburn Burgess and the widower of Ellen Marie Barnard Burgess. Surviving are two daughters, Gloria Dunlow of Windsor, NC, and Charlotte Coon of Edenton, NC.

{REST} Other survivors include three sisters, Isabelle V. Burgess of Shiloh, NC, June Forehand of Camden, NC and Carolyn B. Hopper of Centreville, VA; four brothers, Donald V. Burgess of Washington Co., NC, Elroy C. Burgess of Shiloh, NC, and Raymond E. Burgess and Douglas B. Burgess, both of San Antonio, TX.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2:00 pm at Twiford's Memorial Chapel, 405 E. Church St. in Elizabeth City, with Rev. John Luton officiating. Burial will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park with Masonic Rites. The family will be at the home of Mrs. June Forehand, 199 Smith Corner Rd., Camden, NC. The Master of the Lodge requests that members of the Hall Lodge meet at 12:00 o'clock noon. Visitation will be Monday, 7-8:30 pm at Twiford's Memorial Chapel.
