Mr. Chalk was born in Perquimans County, N. C., and was the son of the late Elmer and Annie Chalk.
{REST} Mr. Chalk served in the Insurance Industry in many capacities for 39 years. He is a member of Tidewater Gospel Assembly Church. He was the Founder and Executive Administrator of the Gospel Assembly Ministers Fund and Church of God in Christ Hospital Fund. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Esther Raymond Chalk of Norfolk; two daughters, Donna Lynn Shumaker of Norfolk and Nancy Elizabeth Daves of Virginia Beach; one son, C. Gary Chalk of Norfolk; eight grandchildren, Morgan, Jared, Kendall, and Jason Chalk, Rachael, Michael, and Gregory Shumaker and Catherine Daves; three brothers, Lloyd C. Chalk and James R. Chalk of Norfolk, Clyde W. Chalk of Colerain, North Carolina; one sister, Earline Birge of Virginia Beach; several nieces, nephews, uncles and aunts.
The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, June 28, 1994 at 2 p.m. in Tidewater Gospel Assembly Church by the Reverends Thomas Lord and Gordon Littrell. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Norfolk.
Friends may join the family at the church Monday evening 7 to 9 p.m. for visitation and at the residence at other times. In lieu of flowers please make memorial donations to the Clifton T.
