HELEN R.E. MAYFIELD

{LEAD} Helen R.E. Mayfield, 91, formerly of the Mount Hermon section of Portsmouth, died June 24, 1994, in Syracuse, N.Y.

Mrs. Mayfield was born in Portsmouth and was the widow of Bennie Mayfield. She was a former member of Mount Hermon Baptist Temple.

{REST} Survivors include three sisters, Virginia Wingfield of Syracuse, Elydia Eley of Portsmouth and Geraldine Eley of Long Beach, Calif.; nieces, Laura Wingfield and Evelyn Wingfield, both of Syracuse; and several other nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Fisher Funeral Home by the Rev. I.S. Waters. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery. The family will assemble at the funeral home at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.
