IRVING IGDAL

{LEAD} Irving Igdal, 82, of the 400 block of Thole St., a retired grocer, died June 28, 1994, in a Norfolk hospital.

Mr. Igdal was a native of Shaki, Lithuania, and a resident of Norfolk since 1949. He owned Irving's Market until he retired in 1975 after 21 years. He was a member of B'Nai Israel Congregation in Norfolk, Brith Sholom, Jewish Community Center, charter member of the United States Holocaust Museum and member of Yes Club. Mr. Igdal was a survivor of Kovno Ghetto and Stutthof and Dachau Concentration Camps, and was the last surviving member of his family that immigrated to the United States.

{REST} Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Ruth S. Igdal; and a daughter, Frieda Marlene Igdal of Falls Church, Va.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in Forest Lawn Cemetery by Rabbi Israel Bornstein. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk, is handling arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to B'Nai Israel Congregation or the Beth Sholom Home.
