Mr. Slinger was born in Oak Park, Ill., and was the widower of Olive B. Slinger. He was retired from the Army Corps of Engineers and attended Kempsville Presbyterian Church.
{REST} Survivors include two daughters, Olive N. Miller of Logan, Ohio, and Barbara A. Parker of Chesapeake; one son, Rollin N. Slinger Jr. of Chesapeake; one sister, Mary Frances Waddell of Chesapeake; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. today in Kempsville Presbyterian Church by the Rev. James H. Nowell. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. today in Stonewall Memory Gardens Mausoleum, Manassas, Va. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel, is handling arrangements.
