David Clive (``North, Dole and the flat-Earth folks,'' Another View, June 26) called the Bible ``a fascinating tale'' and said its writers were convinced that if you traveled far enough in any one direction you would fall off the end of the Earth.
Perhaps he should read the full Scriptures before expounding on them. More than 2,000 years ago, the prophet Isaiah penned this in Chapter 40:22a: ``It is he (God) who sitteth upon the circle of the earth. . . .'' I have yet to read one flat-Earth statement from the Scriptures.
The key to Mr. Clive's view was his usage of the word ``tale''; archaeological discoveries prove almost daily the veracity of the Bible.
