Mae Turner Outland, 85, of the 8400 block of Farmland Road, a retired private duty registered nurse, died July 5, 1994, in Obici Hospital, Suffolk.
Mrs. Outland was born in Isle of Wight County and was the widow of Carlton Roosevelt Outland Sr. She was a member of Colosse Baptist Church in Isle of Wight County and was a graduate of the Medical College of Virginia School of Nursing, class of 1934.
Survivors include a daughter, Joyce O. Bradt of Waynesboro; a daughter-in-law, Jean Blythe Outland of Carrsville; a son-in-law, Rodney Bradt of Waynesboro; six grandchildren, Carl Outland and Tara Outland, both of Carrsville, Carol O. Daniel of Rocky Mount, N.C., Michael Bradt of Salem, Ore., Andrew Bradt of Danville and Rebecca Bradt of Waynesboro; and four great-grandchildren, Lyndsay Outland and Taylor Outland, both of Carrsville, Autumn Bradt and Alex Bradt, both of Salem, Ore. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her son, Carlton R. Outland Jr. and her parents, Henrietta Spivey Turner and Jordan Jack Turner.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Sidney F. Harrell Funeral Home, Suffolk, by the Rev. Ronald L. Wiley. Burial will be in Colosse Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home of the daughter-in-law, 30273 Outland Drive, Carrsville.
