A 79-year-old Norfolk woman was shot Monday night as she sat watching fireworks outside Mount Trashmore Park, police said.
Dorothy Warren was wounded in the lower part of her right leg about 9:50 p.m. as she sat with friends at the intersection of South Independence Boulevard and Edwin Drive.
Warren, of the 5000 block of Tidewater Drive, was treated and released from a hospital.
Police said the shooting may have been random. Anyone who saw or has information about the shooting is asked to call Crime Solvers at 427-0000.
