It seems odd to me that either political party should nominate someone like Oliver North.
My hat's off to Republican U.S. Sen. John Warner for standing up for principle and country over party line.
I also feel that Bob Dole has nothing more to say regarding anyone in public office flip-flopping on any position. The Senate minority leader has done a splendid job of flip-flopping in his attitude toward Oliver North. Does the party tell Dole what to think and how to vote? Whom is he representing - his constituents or the Republican Party? Whom is he serving - our country, his political party or the lobbyists?
As an American and as a Virginian, I feel insulted by the Republican Party and all the backers of Oliver North. I feel that he cannot be trusted to represent me, mine and the state of Virginia.
He is not a Virginian. If he is elected, will he represent Virginians; Pat Robertson, who holds some of the purse strings; or himself?
