Doretha R. King, 48, of the 2600 block of Evergreen Place, died July 6, 1994, in Maryview Medical Center.
Mrs. King was born in Norfolk County and was the widow of retired BMC Chief George E. King. She was a member and Usher of Christian Antioch Church of God in Christ, Portsmouth, the Senior Choir and Pastors Aide.
Survivors include three daughters, Violet King, Mischa King and Evelyn King, all of Portsmouth; three sisters, Mildred Ellis and Mary Owens, both of Portsmouth, and Alice Bland of Philadelphia; three grandchildren; two uncles; two aunts; seven brothers-in-law; two sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Tuesday in Christian Antioch Church of God in Christ by the Rev. Robert L. Windley. Burial will be in Hampton National Cemetery. Viewing will begin at 10 a.m. Monday in Corprew Funeral Home. The body will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. Tuesday. ILLUSTRATION: Personal Photo
