Mary Elizabeth Carden, 82, died Saturday, July 9, 1994, in a Portsmouth hospital.
Mrs. Carden was a native of Portsmouth. She was the widow of Curtis Carden.
Survivors include a daughter, Hazel V. Standin of Portsmouth; a sister, Phyllis Smith of Hampton, Ga.; a brother, William Rowe of Portsmouth; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The remains are being cremated. Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Boulevard Chapel, is in charge.
