Francis Larry Bass, 72, of the 2500 block of Cross Road, died Monday, July 11, 1994, at his home.
Mr. Bass was a native of Crewe, Va. He served in the U.S. Navy as a chief petty officer from 1939-1961 and was a World War II Pearl Harbor survivor. After retiring from the Navy he served 24 years with the Navy Public Works Center in Norfolk. He was a past master of the Indian River Masonic Lodge, a member of the Berkley Lodge and a member of Sunbeam Hunt Club.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Twiddy Bass; a daughter, Deborrah Bass Graham of Virginia Beach; a sister, Ethel DeMark of Norfolk; and a brother, Levern Bass of Florida.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Walker Funeral Chapel, Plymouth. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens. Memorial gifts may be made the American Cancer Society. Horner-Walker Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
